How does it work?
Once you have downloaded our safety camera database to your Garmin device you will be automatically notified of all fixed safety camera locations and the most frequently reported mobile camera locations. As you approach a safety camera location your device will display a red banner on top of the screen with the speed limit while emitting an audio tone. If you are above the speed limit the device will continue to alert you with a repeating audio tone until you reduce your speed below the speed limit.

Over 700 Fixed and Mobile Locations
Our safety camera database contains over 700 fixed and mobile locations in the Republic of Ireland. The mobile locations are compiled from a combination of the most frequently reported locations gathered by the Irishspeedtraps team who are on the roads daily and locations reported by our users. All reported locations by users and manually verified by the Irishspeedtraps team.

Unlimited Updates for One Year
We regularly update our database with new camera locations, corrections and remove obsolete locations. On average we release two updates per month. All subscribers are entitled to download these updates for a one year period from the date of purchase at no additional charge. Downloads are available by logging into the members area.

Irishspeedtraps.com's Safety Camera Database is compatible with these devices. If you would like to try downloading to a Garmin device not listed here and are having problems please contact support@irishspeedtraps.com and we will try to assist you in getting the download operational. We offer this support for download to Garmin devices only. Please note that Irishspeedtraps.com cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss whatsoever caused by downloading to devices not listed as compatible on this page. Irishspeedtraps.com are not obliged to make any refunds for downloads to devices not listed as compatible with our database on this page.

Issues with Garmin StreetPilot Devices
A number of our members have tested the Safety Camera database download with StreetPilot devices. They reported problems if you have custom POIs installed on your device. According to the feedback we received if you download our database to a StreetPilot you will no longer be able to access any custom POIs you had already installed on the device yourself. Also if you install any custom POIs after installing our database you will no longer be able to access our database. Because of this we have to warn you that if you download to a StreetPilot it is at your own risk and irishspeedtraps.com cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss whatsoever caused by doing so. We are not obliged to make any refunds for downloads to devices not listed as suitable for use on this page.

If you do not use custom POIs on your StreetPilot then you should be able to download and use our database with no problems. Please note that this problem only affects the Garmin StreetPilot devices. There are no such problems with the Nuvi and Zumo range of devices.

Download to non-Garmin Devices
The Safety Camera database download is not yet compatible with non-Garmin devices (such as TomTom, Navman, Route66, etc). You will not be able to download or convert the download for use on these devices. Our website will only allow you to download to a Garmin device. If you attempt to download to a non-Garmin device, either successfully or unsuccessfully, we regret we are unable to offer a refund.
